Collection: Muses
"Muses", because that's what sets this series apart from its predecessors, those who are the source of these portraits. I was inspired by several local women artists with whom I've had the privilege of collaborating in recent years.
Real people, human, creative, admirable and, above all, inspiring.
Beyond physical resemblance, which was not the ultimate goal, there is the essence behind each of these faces. Each of the reference photos I used to create these paintings emanated an intensity that greatly inspired me. Sometimes fragile, sometimes powerful, they guided the direction taken for each work, in a resolutely urban visual approach, borrowing from the codes of street art.
