"I had a lot to say and illustrate about this painting...
First, as a background on wood, the tears were glued back together. Literally, with the paper, as well as figuratively. Hands outstretched, hands clasping, eyes troubled but focused on the surface, all intertwined.
And the message tattooed for life: Let Hope Rise.
Its name is a song by Dear Evan Hensen, which pretty much sums up what I've painted.
It's the first time I've had my eyes filled with water in front of my easel. I hope it will touch you, as it touched me during its creation!"
